Sunday Stills - Go High,Go Low

Looking down at CheyChey

Looking up at the ice

If you look closely you can see the ice

I thought this one looked more dramatic with it in black and white than color

Here's the blurb on what we had to do this week:

"There were some great suggestions for this week and thanks for all of them. But I like the concept of the perspective of the shooter. So with that in mind, try a pic that is’nt dead on to put mildly, go high, go low is the mantra for this week. It should be interesting to see the results. Just keep one thing in mind when shooting from a low angle, watch the sky, during midday the sky tends to get washed out and white. The only remedy for this is a polarizer filter and point and shoot cameras cannot be fitted with one. So, good luck.
Till next time, have fun and keep snappin’"

I took a lot of photos and this is what I ended up liking the best out of all of them. So let me know what you think!!!

Winter wonderland...

My little brother playing in the snow!!!

Drops off of the bird bath

Fast action snow ball!

Snow and ice glinting in the afternoon sun

I just loved how the sun was shimmering on the ice!!!!

Ice shinning in the sun off the branches of the trees
These photos were me just enjoying the winter wonderland around us. I was and still am fascinated by the ice gleaming in the sun. I wish I had more time and gotten some better pics, but these will have to do. I will be posting some great photos for the Sunday Stills in a couple of days! So make sure to come back and check them out.

Just messing around

I got out today and took some photos for the Sunday Stills, and here are some that don't pertain to the topic for this week. So here they are. The one above is the original and then when I got home I took and puts some effects on it.

Sunday Stills - Nature awaiting rebirth...

Well with school and work and everything else that comes from life, I haven't had time to break out the old school camera. So I had to take these with my digital Kodak EasyShare C875. Its 8.0 mega pixels with a 37 - 185mm optical zoom. It doesn't do too bad, but I like my pictures from when I used my SLR. So I will have to start using film again, until I can afford to buy a digital SLR. That would be nice. Anyway these are my pictures for this week. All around me I can see nature in that waiting stage of life. The cold is set in and the flowers are just quivering with the need to be reborn. The trees are reaching towards a small break in the clouds, trying to suck some color back into themselves.

Previous pics I have taken...

This was taken while on vacation in Florida.

So I am joining this group called the Sunday Stills and I wanted to create a separate blog for this so here is some of my earlier work that I am proud of. I will be posting more so check back often! I hope to get back into photography as I have really neglected it the last couple of years!

This was taken while on vacation in Ireland last July.
I can't even remember when I took this but I know it was at my grandmothers house. It could have been closer.
This was last year my sister, her husband, and I were kayaking out at Caesar Creek. It was cold but worth it. I just love this picture.
This was taken last summer, my niece and my grandmother, it would have been a lot better if it had been closer, but it's still cute!
